Ricochet Arena or PGA5: which one to open first

Two games in the same section, built for two different moods. This compares controls, session length and difficulty curve, then gives one recommendation.
The difference in controls
You open Ricochet Arena and the first screen already asks for a decision. This guide covers which decision to make first, and which ones can wait until you know the rhythm.
The game describes itself like this: shooting. So your hand needs to know one thing before you start — when to press, and when to wait.
Every choice in Ricochet Arena is eventually measured by one thing: how long you can keep making the right decision. Score, levels and rewards are just how the game counts that.
The difference in time and difficulty
The points below are ordered by effect, not by difficulty. Try one, then add the second.
- Move first, shoot second. Standing still makes you an easy target. Step sideways, then fire. This pattern reduces damage taken more than any new weapon.
- Aim at the closest target, not the biggest. Big enemies usually carry more health. A small enemy at close range can kill you faster. Clear what is near first.
- Shoot while moving in the direction you already chose. Do not turn back just to fire. Moving forward while shooting keeps momentum and cuts the time you spend in the open.
- Check the reload before you step into the open. Most deaths happen in the first two seconds after you leave cover. Make sure the weapon is ready before you step out, not after.
- Take a corner, not the middle of the corridor. The centre gives you a clear shot but also gives the enemy one. Enter from the edge, clear one corner, then move.
- If three shots in a row miss, stop shooting. Firing through three misses only burns ammunition. Breathe, fix your position, then fire again.
What changes after five minutes
The first five minutes of Ricochet Arena feel heavy because you are still checking every option. After that, your eyes start jumping to the right place and your hand stops asking. That is not talent; it is pattern recognition, and it happens to everyone.
Before pressing start, check two things on the game page: the control it states, and whether progress is saved. Those two lines decide whether this game suits five minutes or one week.
Why your first action is usually wrong
The first action is made before you know the rhythm. It is almost always too fast. Waiting one beat before the first action removes half the mistakes.
A recommendation by situation
Play three rounds, then compare not the score but the number of decisions you had to take back. If that number falls, you are on the right track.
Compare a decision you made ten minutes ago with one you make now. If the same decision takes less time, you improved — even if the score barely moved.
If you only have five minutes, do not try to finish a level. Play one round with one target: avoid one repeated mistake. One small target reached is worth more than a long session that ends without an answer.
Questions that keep coming up about Ricochet Arena
How long should one session of Ricochet Arena be?
Ten to fifteen minutes, or two full rounds, is enough to see whether the game suits you. After that your decisions start repeating and the session stops giving new information.
If I close the tab, do I lose progress?
Progress is stored in browser storage for this domain, so closing the tab does not erase it. Clearing site data or switching browsers does.
Should I play on a phone or a computer?
Look at the control stated on the game page. If it mentions touch, a phone is more comfortable. If it mentions a keyboard or mouse, a computer gives you finer control.
Why has my score stopped rising even though I play longer?
Because the game scores the quality of your decisions, not the time you spend. Past a certain point, more time does not help; changing one repeated decision does.
Does Ricochet Arena need an account or payment?
No. Games on this site run in the browser with no sign-up and no install. If something asks for an account, it is usually the multiplayer provider, not this site.
If you remember one thing from this article: make one decision at a time in Ricochet Arena. The game rewards order, not speed.
